Lord's Day

Jesus draw me ever nearer

As I labor through the storm

You have called me to this passage

And I'll follow though I'm worn.

May this journey bring a blessing

May I rise on wings of faith

And at the end of my heart's testing

With Your likeness let me wake.

Jesus guide me through the tempest

Keep my spirit staid and sure

When the midnight meets the morning

Let me love You even more.

Let the treasures of the trial

Form within me as I go

And at the end of this long passage

Let me leave them at Your throne.

A Valentine

So the holiday is on us once again

Of roses and dinner for two

And again I wonder if you're thinking of me

As I am thinking of you.

Have you chosen to close your ears and eyes

To Hollywood's version of love?

Have you made the commitment to wait on God's timing

For that love story written above?

Can we say one day we used our single years

Growing in wisdom, faith, and grace,

Rather than pursuing that empty love

That many so blindly chase?

I don't know you yet, but you're on my mind

And I hope I am on yours too

And I pray that you are preparing for me

As I diligently prepare for you.

May Christ and His church be mirrored

As God intended it to be

In the covenant marriage relationship;

May that be true of you and me.

It's a precious gift I'm saving for you,

A woman's tender heart

It's been bought with a price and saved by the grace

That my Savior's blood did impart.

May we never see love as our due;

It's a gift sent straight from God

So I will not attempt to be your girl

Till I get His approving nod.

Are you waiting, I wonder? Are you waiting for me?

I continue to wait for you

So God, please guard our every thought and action

Till that moment we say "I do".

To London I Shall Go!

Hello everyone! Did you all know that Lydia's sisters (who are supposed to be sharing this blog) actually exist? Ha ha, ya it's a little - well - a long time since I've written anything. But now I actually have something to write about! I will be in England for a few weeks starting the 17th helping some friends move there. I hope to be able to blog while I'm there. If I can't I'll have one really long post when I get back. Till then, blessings.
