The Valentine's Dinner- Secrets Revealed

Last night was our church's annual Valentine's dinner. The images you are about to see are the things that go on between the hours of 8:00 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening when the dinner starts and we are all on our best behavior ;-). Try not to be shocked. And remember: this is confidential information.
We got there a little late this year; 2:00 pm! The orderve room was in need of decorating, so us three sisters and our dear friend Stephanie set straight to work. Sort of.
Music while you work is essential.
A row of candles adds a touch of romance to an plain nursery.

We all have a love/hate relationship with tulle. Except for Carissa who pretty much hates the stuff all together. We affectionately referred to it as "the beast" all afternoon.
Stephanie bravely releasing the beast.
Add some lights, and you have a tangled mess on your hands.
Thankfully, I had it all under control. Now....how do I get out of this?
"Put it on your head, Steph. Oh, come on! It's not like I'm going to put the picture on the internet."
Stephanie and I taming the beast.
Mission accomplished.
We interrupt our usual programing to bring you the camera wars. I'm not entirely certain who won. OK, back to business.
The dinning room.
Part of the kitchen crew.
Lights, candles, action!
Decorating is done, food is cooking, candles are lit; time to get ready for the guests!*sniff, sniff* Perfume and hairspray. Yep, smells like girls in here.
Stephanie and I pause for a picture.
Whoops. Caught on film. That would be me with my "just one more" face on.
The staff must be fed too, you know.

Isn't it romantic?

How beautiful and romantic!!! It looks like you all had loads of fun!
About tulle, my mom had to make flower girl dresses for my two little sisters when we were in my uncle's wedding. The dresses had EIGHT layers of tulle on the outside of the skirt-part of the dresses! And, get this, she had to stick tiny rhinestones on EACH layer! Wow! She can tell you that THAT wasn't fun.

Oh by the way, what is the title of the CD that you listened to?

Mia- Thank you! Yes, we always have a wonderful time together.

Rachel- Thanks, Rachel. My aunt always picks out the colors for the dinner every year, and she always does a GREAT job :-).

Jen- Yes, we have a blast decorating. It's always so much fun to "fuss", to put things up and tear 'em back down until everyone's happy with it!

Leslie- I cant imagine actually SEWING with the beast! I'm sure your mom was happy when that project was over! It is lovely material, though. The CD we were playing is the soundtrack to the movie EMMA. Have you ever seen it before? If you haven't, we watch the 1996 version with Gwyneth Paltrow as Emma. The music is lovely.

Have a lovely week, everyone!
