Thanksgiving Day

"I think we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not
merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed

consummation. It is not out of compliment that lovers keep on telling
one another how beautiful they are; the delight is incomplete till it
is expressed...

The worthier the object the more intense this delight
would be. If it were possible for a created soul fully (I mean up to
the full measure conceivable in a finite being) to "appreciate", that
is to love and delight in, the worthiest object of all, and
simultaneously at every moment to give this delight perfect
expression, then that soul would be in supreme beatitude...

The Scotch catechism says that man's chief end is "to glorify God and enjoy Him
forever". But we shall then know that these are the same thing. Fully
to enjoy is to glorify. In commanding us to glorify Him, God is
inviting us to enjoy Him."

Crafty Tuesday

We are helping a good friend of ours decorate for her wedding!

You all have probably seen these roses...
...they're the one's you melt the edges to make them crinkled.
So little roses will go on these garlands for the sides of the pews....

....and the bigger roses will be for the table arrangements.

Stay tuned to see how this all comes together in December!

Some Music On Monday

We were listening to this song before church yesterday and it reminded me of that beautiful picture John paints in Revelation of ten thousand upon ten thousand and thousands of thousands all sing with one voice. Singing with one voice because they have one allegiance to one King. He is our true King. He ordains kings on this earth now, but one day all that will fade away and He will be the One and only.

....And You shall Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.

"If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying under a burden, and you would refrain from helping it, you shall surely help him with it."
Exodus-23:5

Here we see God teaching His people for the first time that grace which isn't so common. He says, "and you would refrain from helping," meaning in your flesh and left to yourself you wouldn't have gone to help him. But praise be to God that with His spirit and His grace in us, "you shall surely help him with it." You, as My people, will show that uncommon grace. You will reflect Me, glorify Me, you will find true joy in those thing you wouldn't normally do.

A Beautilful Summer in the Adirondacks

On an island in the heart of the Adirondacks...

lived the Tapawingo summer staff which I was privileged to be a part of.

Over 500 girls came through Tapawingo.

They learned who to do new things...

and were taught through the scriptures who Jesus Christ is.

How thankful I am that God has walked me through what He has in the past year!
