Don't look forward to the challenges and chances of this life in fear; rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise, God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them. He has kept you hither to, -do you but hold fast to His dear hand, and He will lead you safely through all things; and, when you cannot stand, He will bear you in His arms...The same everlasting Father who cares for you today, will take care of you tomorrow, and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.Sunday, May 24, 2009

Delicious Cookies
I haven't posted for awhile so I thought I would share some of the fruits of my labors from this morning.

Wheat Germ Oatmeal Cookies
Mix together:
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup skim milk powder
1/2 tsp salt
Add:
1/2 cup oil (veg. or canola)
2 eggs
2 tsp almond extract (I had to use vanilla today)
Stir In:
2 1/2 cup oats (rolled or instant)
1/4 cup wheat germ
Optional: Sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, oat bran, chocolate chips, raisins (use more oats if you omit these ingredients)
Grease cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
A friend gave me this recipe several years ago and I love it! Oatmeal cookies are my favorite and I especially love all the different tastes of the seeds and the raisins. Very yummy! :)
I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful month of May. Have a great day!

A Penny for your Thoughts
A friend asked me a question this afternoon that has made me do some deep thinking. And, since I don't like to be the only one thinking deeply, I thought I'd make you all think too! Here's the question:Sunday, May 10, 2009
